Within a few short months in 2016, my mother passed away and I was diagnosed with breast cancer. After two lumpectomies that did not obtain clear margins, I had a bilateral mastectomy. My reconstructive surgery was one year to the day of my mother's first heart attack. My husband, Craig Wilkins, and I declared a do-over year and we crammed our next year with family, friends, love, and laughter. Then on July 19, 2018, my husband suffered a fatal cardiac arrest while playing golf with a friend.
