Emergency information stored on your phone can help you in a life-threatening situation allowing rescuers to access your vital information and your emergency contacts without unlocking your phone.
Why is it important?
When my husband, Craig Wilkins, passed away, his phone did not have emergency contact information. A friend who was with him did not have my phone number. We have no home phone. With all of the best intent, a game of telephone ensued, resulting in me receiving calls and texts informing me that my husband had a suffered a heart attack, which hospital he was at, and that "He is ok."
It was only upon my arrival at the Emergency Room and escorted into a windowless room that I began to comprehend that my husband was in fact not ok.
Then, three months after my husband's passing, I ventured onto Facebook and was confronted by the pleas from the police and my husband's friends trying to get ahold of me that fateful evening.
Please, take a moment to add your emergency information and contacts to your phone. It may save your life in a life-threatening situation and will help ensure your loved ones are promptly contacted in the event of an emergency.
