On July 19, 2018, my life came to an abrupt stop. On that day, my best friend and husband, Craig Wilkins, died suddenly and unexpectedly of a cardiac arrest while playing golf. It hasn't been easy. But I have learned so much, gained a new perspective, and I am certainly a stronger person.
My life will not be defined by that date, his passing, nor will it be defined by my breast cancer or bilateral mastectomy. I choose to live my life with gratitude, to use those and all my experiences to my advantage.
Tomorrow is promised to no one. We must look within. We each individually have the power to make today and every day meaningful. It is up to each of us to set out each morning seeking to live with no regrets; to push ourselves, our peers, friends, and loved ones to be the best; to constantly be learning; to look for and see new opportunities; to execute; to put nothing off; and to hold our loved ones tight. To live like Craig did.
Craig is the most amazing encouraging and driving force who helped me become the person I am today. And for that, I am eternally grateful.
